Happy 2024!

This New Year, may you…

have at least a full hour for yourself everyday

appreciate the sky before it turns gray;

In Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte (my 2nd local trip in year 2023)

do something that makes your heart sing

learn something new and tantalizing;

At the Hilton Hotel lobby, after two consecutive events in Dec. 2023

read a novel, a book or two

get lost in the characters’ world for several minutes too;

get immersed in a movie or documentary that melts your heart

you may laugh, cry, sing, or do art;

spend time with loved ones, share a smile and a hug

share a glass of champagne or hot chocolate in a mug;

Chillin’ in a coffee shop a day after Christmas 2023

pen your thoughts, a story or a poem

or an essay where your ideas can freely roam;

feel the magic in the air

there are sprinkles of it, you just need to look and be aware;

In the Mebuyan Vessel, La Union (Nov. 2023)

plant a seedling, a bush or a tree

the earth definitely needs a green, leafy, company;

look into your pet’s (or an animal’s) innocent eyes

and find a way to help animals have a safe and enjoyable lives;

listen to your fellow brethren’s stories

understand them, help in maintaining peace;

do some art, draw, paint, carve stone and wood

listen to music, let the lively and sometimes somber notes carry you as they should;

have time to pray and share your thoughts to God

to have guidance, to seek help, and express thanks for all you have and had.

Happy New Year, everyone! Cheers to a gentler, kinder 2024! Take care of your heart, mind, body, and spirit.
May the new year be amazing, magical and enchanting, as you are!

Love,

Emmylou
