These are some of the highlights as September ended and a new month began.
I started the week with two (2) lectures on cultural diplomacy on a Monday morning, which were rescheduled twice because of Sept. rains and storm.

This was followed by a despedida lunch for a dear former boss and mentor who is leaving for foreign assignment this October. Since my lecture ended at almost 1pm, I wasn’t able to join my officemates and ate by myself at one of the tables. but two guests kindly joined me briefly.
Then my work team organized an exhibit demonstration, with Ms. Marian Pastor Roces who shared her expertise on Philippine textiles. (I was thankful that she attended despite her health condition.)
It is my huge hope that this project will be completed this month.

I also attended a Bids and Awards Committee Meeting, and a consultations on projects. I’m so glad that two project snags were resolved, and three other projects are now moving.![]()
With my daughter Abie’s efforts and coordination, we have finally brought to the vet and vaccinated 30+ cats.
(This was long overdue but my pocket said ouch. I am also sad about our 2 cats whose body succumbed to illness in late July & late Sept. despite meds
)
In between, I am thankful for family, friends, some work colleagues, and even cats ![]()
who shared time and light conversations. ![]()

By this time, some trees in Manila are already lit up for Christmas. While I still wait for that elusive Christmas spirit to decide to come to me, I am grateful for day to day beauty and blessings, like these plum dahlias that my daughter gifted me and her lola (my mom) on the first day of October.

Here’s to wishing more meaningful and enjoyable days ahead, as we begin the fourth quarter of the year.
Depending on your situation, may you find the will and enthusiasm to continue, or the courage to begin anew. May you see the beauty each day brings. May you exude kindness and gentleness, even amidst difficulties. Have a great last quarter of 2025!
